The footage was captured by cameras mounted at different angles of the landing craft as it passed through the planet’s thin atmosphere to gently touch down inside a basin called the Jezero Crater.

The world watched on with bated breath as NASA took a giant leap towards the exploration of the red planet.
The space agency on Monday released the first-of-its-kind audio and video recording from the Perseverence Rover that landed on Mars.
The recording is of a faint crackling of a gust of wind that was captured by the rover. In addition, the space agency also released a full video of the rover landing on Mars. According to an AFP report, a microphone malfunctioned during the rover s descent. But it was able to record audio after landing on Mars. The 6-second recording has now been shared on social media.
