Hampton police Lt Tom Gudaitis retires after 40 years

HAMPTON – Lt. Tom Gudaitis retired this week from the Hampton Police Department, after spending the past 40 years of his life serving the community. “For me to list every duty he’s been assigned during his years here would be impossible,” said Hampton Police Chief David Hobbs. “He’s just has a wealth of knowledge and a unique set of skills. He’s a true professional with a great attitude and work ethic, and he’s a tremendous leader.” Gudaitis started at Hampton PD in 1981 as a part-time officer, while he was still in the Air Force after being stationed at Pease Air Force Base in Newington. When he retired from the military in 1989 after more than 13 years with the service, he decided he liked police work and became a full-time patrolman in Hampton.

Concerns for Cambridge business over council s potential land decision

CAMBRIDGE A Cambridge industrial employer says they may be forced out of their spot due to a forthcoming land decision made by council. David Hopps, the owner of Canada Tool Company Ltd., appeared in front of Cambridge City Council at their Tuesday meeting to make his case about a possible residential development near his company. I am really disappoint that after 60 years of operating in Cambridge, we were never consulted by the city or the region about any proposed changes to the employment lands, he said. A report from city staff says the neighbouring land to Canada Tool s 160 Groh Avenue, currently designated as employment lands, could soon be changed to a residential development.
