He earned an associate’s degree from Fulton-Montgomery Community College, served in the National Guard and was a member of the Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. He was employed as a crew foreman for Rifenburg Construction in Troy, N.Y. He married and moved to Highland Village, Texas, where he was employed by the city of Highland village and was responsible for street maintenance and repair and also acted as construction and building inspector.
