Attorneys weigh in on hired killer s bid for new trial

MUNCIE, Ind. Attorneys have weighed in as a Delaware County man convicted in a murder-for-hire plot continues his pursuit of a new trial.
Jess David Woods, now 69, was convicted of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in 2009. He was later sentenced to 100 years in prison by Delaware Circuit Court 3 Judge Linda Ralu Wolf.
Woods formerly of the Daleville area was convicted of fatally shooting 29-year-old Teresa French at her family s Cromer Avenue home in May 1993.
Authorities said French s estranged husband, Anthony, had hired Woods to kill her.
At a hearing last November, Woods and his attorney, Eric Koselke of Indianapolis, requested post-conviction relief in the form of a new trial.

Twenty-nine schools which were offered the Government s funded lunch in schools programme turned down the free food.
The lunch in school programme - Ka Ora, Ka Ako - was offered to 763 schools late last year.
The Education Ministry said Ka Ora, Ka Ako is offered to schools and kura that fall within the highest 25 per cent of socio-economic disadvantage nationally and where students face the greatest barriers that can affect access to education, wellbeing and achievement.

WAHPETON, N.D. (KVRR) - A North Dakota public school teacher is on administrative leave after she had students reenact the arrest of George Floyd.
Barb Michelson, a fifth grade teacher at Wahpeton Elementary School, had students in her class reenact the Floyd arrest as part of what was intended to be “a teachable moment,” according to district officials. She has been on administrative leave since last week.
