CAMPAIGNERS in Scotland are continuing to battle the planned closure of a factory that could see some production shifted to Carlisle. Earlier this week, workers at McVitie s in Tollcross, Glasgow gathered outside of the Glasgow Fort M&S Store - one of their biggest clients. Protests have also taken place at the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood. It comes days after almost 500 staff received their formal redundancy notices. GMB Scotland Organiser David Hume called the move an act of extreme bad faith . He added:“It’s an act of extreme bad faith on the part of the Pladis Managing Director David Murray, and a gross insult to hundreds of workers and their families who are fighting for their livelihoods and community.
