Tegna wants a bigger piece of the podcast action: The TV station group announced the acquisition of Locked On Podcast Network, which produces some 160 daily shows for teams across the U.S.’s four major pro sports leagues and more than 30 colleges.

Park City, Utah-based Locked On will remain a standalone business within Tegna, expanding its podcast footprint alongside digital content studio Vault Studios and individual Tegna stations’ podcasting efforts.
In his comically surreal war novel, Joseph Heller explained the paradox of Catch-22: ‘A concern for one’s safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind.’ For if you flew more missions you were crazy and did not have to. Rudy Gobert is a tough one. There are people who like him, sure there are, even outside of Utah, but he’s a heady brew of misunderstood big man sulk, French curtness, and Kyrie-fried Deep Thoughts. You hear things, stuff you wouldn’t put in a column because it’s not fair to the guy to bring unverifiable Reddit chatter and off-record journo gossip into print. But there s enough news about him stepping on toes, rubbing folks the wrong way, that you get the impression he’s not popular among his colleagues. There’s nothing wrong, really, with being difficult. Maybe you yourself are difficult. When people say unflattering things about you, you get defensive. Because they’re mostly true.
