Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford had injury added to insult when he hurt his ankle early in Saturday s blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that dropped Detroit to 5-10 on the season.
Stafford suggested on Monday that he wants to face the Minnesota Vikings in next Sunday s season finale for both clubs but also intimated that he will listen to his body and won t push himself. If the rest of me, if I m good, I want to be out there. I want to play, Stafford said, per Michael Rothstein of ESPN. Do everything I can to try and get there towards the end of the week and kind of have to figure it out, how it goes day-to-day, how it responds to treatment, all of that.
