By Aris Folley - 12/30/20 08:52 PM EST   The Secret Service is planning to add a number of agents that previously worked with President-elect Joe Biden While it’s not unusual for staffing changes to be made to the presidential detail when a new administration assumes office, the moves come as allies of the incoming president have expressed concerns about how some agents may align with President Trump The Secret Service has faced scrutiny in recent months following reports that some agents were told by members of the presidential detail to forgo masks when around Trump. The office also attracted attention in the past year after it allowed Anthony Ornato, who previously headed up the current administration s detail, to serve as a political adviser in the White House.

The U.S. Secret Service is reportedly bringing back agents who previously served on President-elect Joe Biden s detail after his campaign raised concerns that certain agents already in place were politically aligned with President Trump.  A spokesperson for Biden told Fox News the transition team had no comment on the matter, but the Washington Post reported that at least two members of Biden s security detail when he was vice-president will be returning to head the new team.  Those from Biden s old crew include Darryl Volpicelli, who will become the second-in-command for Biden’s security detail, and Brian McDonough, who will become a senior detail supervisor, sources told The Post.
