Wheels Up’s journey from its 2013 launch to its forthcoming listing on the New York Stock Exchange is the cover story in the latest edition of Corporate Jet Investor Quarterly (CJIQ).
Our 12-page profile recounts how Kenny Dichter, founder and CEO, launched the company eight years ago with an order for 105 King Air 350i aircraft valued at $788m. Guided by the principle that
“Booking a private jet should be as easy as booking a car with Uber or booking a home with Airbnb,” Dichter built a team of key industry insiders to prepare Wheels Up for the growth that has placed it on the brink of its Wall Street listing.

1/1 A FRENCH football club is asking to be involved into the inquest for the death of footballer Emiliano Sala. It comes after the family of Mr Sala launched legal action over his death in an air crash two years ago - north of Guernsey on January 21, 2019. Mr Sala’s body was brought to Portland Port 18 days later on February 7 - with detectives from Dorset Police carrying out enquiries into his death. French football side FC Nantes wants involvement in his inquest so it can defend itself against accusations it expects to face from current Championship outfit Cardiff City. The Ligue 1 side have urged senior coroner for Dorset Rachael Griffin to grant the club interested persons status for next year s full hearing so it will be able to contest accounts it doesn t agree with by Cardiff.

Emiliano Sala and David Ibbotson were on board the plane which crashed in the Channel in January 2019.
A civil action lodged in London by his mother, sister and brother has been put before the High Court and also lists the plane’s owners.
Solicitor Daniel Machover said the case was to protect the family’s right to sue after the inquest, which is due to be held in Bournemouth this week.
Mr Machover said: “The family know the inquest will provide the answers to the very many questions they have about what went wrong in January 2019 and why Emiliano’s life was cut short.”
