New COVID testing machines arrive in St. Lawrence County

POTSDAM, N.Y. (WWNY) - As promised, St. Lawrence Health System got three new COVID-19 testing machines this week.
The machines are either operating now or will be by Monday, in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Massena Hospital and Gouverneur Hospital.
They’re part of a push by St. Lawrence Health System (SLHS) to expand its ability to perform high quality COVID testing, and get the results quickly.
“It enables people to be classified appropriately as either positive or not, and if they are not positive, after the waiting period, to bring them back to work - and that’s whether they’re a nurse in a hospital or a teacher in school,” said David Acker, St. Lawrence Health System CEO.
