American Hospital Association recognizes Iowa Methodist for 100 years of membership Monday, May 24, 2021 11:02 AM The American Hospital Association on Thursday honored UnityPoint Health – Iowa Methodist Medical Center for its 100 years of participation and leadership in the AHA. At the UnityPoint Health-Des Moines board meeting, Liz Summy, AHA regional executive, recognized the hospital’s long-standing membership with an award to David Stark, president and CEO of UnityPoint Health-Des Moines. While the AHA was founded in 1898, the first year of admitting institutional members was 1919, making Iowa Methodist one of the earliest members of the AHA.
