A Davenport business was damaged by a fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon.
Davenport firefighters were called to Simply Amish of Davenport, located near Harrison Street and Welcome Way, just after 1:30. The Davenport Fire Department says an additional truck company and command staff also responded due to the size and progression of the fire.
DFD says crews found heavy fire conditions from the loading dock and heavy smoke coming from the roof. The structure is a one-story commercial building with a large showroom.
The fire department says crews began an aggressive exterior attack on the fire and ventilation holes were cut into the roof. Once the fire was knocked down, an interior attack was used to extinguish the remaining fire. Heavy smoke and fire damage were reported, with substantial damage to the contents inside the building.
