Aberdeenshire Council is currently carrying out a statutory consultation on an option to merge Dales Park School and Meethill School, both in Peterhead, placing them into the new Peterhead Community Campus. Council reports say the new building would be more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient.

Aberdeenshire Council aims to combine Dales Park and Meethill in Peterhead into a single primary school at the town’s new community campus, which is expected to be built by 2025. The site of the new £71 million facility, at Kinmundy, is around one mile from each of the existing schools.

Public consultations over the future of three north-east primary schools are to be moved online due to the current lockdown. Aberdeenshire Council’s education and children’s services committee approved the consultations to be held over the relocation of the Anna Ritchie School, and another on the merger of Dales Park and Meethill Schools, all in Peterhead. The schools are proposed to be moved into the new Peterhead Community Campus, which was given the go-ahead in 2018, and the location of the site at Kinmundy approved in 2019.
