Doug Spencer Blue Earth – Douglas A. Spencer, age 77, of Blue Earth, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021 at Parkview Care Center in Wells. A memorial service and burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will be held at a later date. Online condolences can be left at www.pattonfh.com Douglas Arthur Spencer was born May 24, 1943 to Fred and Evelyn (Anderson) Spencer in Blue Earth. He was one of four children. Doug attended school in Blue Earth. In high school, he joined the boxing team and became a member of the Blue Earth Golden Glove boxing team. Doug earned four Golden Gloves before he entered the United States Army in 1964. While in the Army, Doug helped his battalion win the Physical Combat Proficiency Test, while setting records in two events individually. When he came back from serving in the Army, Doug married his lovely bride, Judy (Cooley) in January of 1968. They lived in Elmore and had three children. Doug worked at Winnebago Industries for 40 years before retiring

Local community reacts to approval of Pfizer vaccine KIFI/KIDK Pocatello native Dale Spencer answers question on if he will take vaccine POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - The first round of COVID-19 vaccines will be dedicated to front line workers and long-term care facility patients, but that does not mean it is too early to be thinking about taking the vaccine once its ready for widespread use. With the FDA approving the Pfizer vaccine for emergency use, plans to distribute the vaccine are now under way. Vials of the vaccine are expected to be in all 50 states on Monday. With a possible vaccine ready in 2021, we asked locals in Pocatello if they would take the vaccine. Both Timothy Dunkley and Tracy Merrill said they where skeptical of taking the vaccine.
