One year later: Dan Bailey s Fly Shop thriving under new ownership

LIVINGSTON â This time last year, Dan Bailey s Fly Shop was in the midst of transitioning owners.
John Bailey, Dan s son, had been the sole owner since 1982 but decided to retire and hand over the reins to Dale Sexton and Mark Gurley in April 2020.
It was a leap of faith for the fly shop s new owners because of the ongoing pandemic, but one year later and business is booming.
âWe were wide-eyed and kind of on our heels when it first happened, said co-owner Dale Sexton. We didnât know how it would be operating amidst COVID and whatnot, but everybody s just been so supportive.â

Greater Manchester police were warned about shortcomings in their terrorism response plans six months before the Manchester Arena bombing, the public inquiry into the attack has been told.
The hearing heard on Monday how the police inspectorate outlined a number of concerns it had identified, as part of a national review, in a November 2016 “hot debrief” with GMP’s counter-terrorism lead, assistant chief commissioner Catherine Hankinson.
Among the inspectorate’s conclusions was the risk of a force duty officer becoming overwhelmed in the event of a marauding terrorist firearms incident (MTFA).

Fire service argued over where to meet others before deploying, inquiry was told
