West Virginia: Junior running back Leddie Brown ranks second in the Big 12 in rushing yards per game (105.0) and third in rushing touchdowns (nine). His 945 yards rushing are more than the entire team had last season. Senior Darius Stills, the conference’s defensive lineman of the year, has 7 1/2 tackles for loss, 3 1/2 sacks and an interception.
Tennessee: Sophomore RB Eric Gray ranks fourth in the SEC with 772 yards rushing and has a team-leading six touchdowns (four rushing, two receiving). LBs Deandre Johnson and Kivon Bennett have five sacks apiece (tied for fifth in the SEC). Johnson has two forced fumbles and Bennett has one fumble recovery.

Former Baylor Bears head coach Art Briles resigned from his position as head coach at 3A Division I Mount Vernon High School yesterday, according to a report from 247Sports.
That means Briles is likely on the move back to college football. One possibility folks have floated out there is Briles replacing Hugh Freeze with the Liberty Eagles if he moves on.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. The Big 12 regular season ended with more of a whimper rather than a bang over the weekend. Two of the four conference matchups were scratched and just three of the ten conference teams were in action.
The Big 12 Championship game matchup between Iowa State and Oklahoma was settled last week so there was no drama in that regard. The biggest stories of the week surrounded the Texas decision to retain Tom Herman as head coach and how the LSU upset of Florida potentially impacted Iowa State’s hopes of getting to the College Football Playoffs despite two losses.
