Darren Wick will serve nine months in community detention after pleading guilty to driving while more than four times the legal blood alcohol limit in October.
Nine News boss Darren Wick has avoided jail time after pleading guilty to high range drink driving and has received a nine month intensive corrections order.
This is the second time Mr Wick has been convicted and he was found to be over five times the legal limit.
The 58 year old recovering alcoholic said his arrest may have saved his life as he had already received a conviction for midrange drink driving.
