European governments said the credibility of their COVID-19 vaccination programmes was at risk after US pharmaceutical firm Pfizer announced a temporary slowdown of deliveries of its coronavirusvaccines. Health ministers from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Sweden wrote in a joint letter to the European Commission following the announcement that this situation is unacceptable .

Commenting on the latest from Brussels, Euronews Political Editor Darren McCaffrey said EU leaders are being quick to blame Brussels over delays in the rollout of anti-coronavirus vaccinations across the bloc. But Mr McCaffrey pointed out EU Governments could share some part of the blame as they demonstrated a lack of preparedness at the beginning of 2021. Brexit Deal Expected To Be Announced This Morning The EU and the UK are on the verge of an agreement.
British prime minister Boris Johnson is due to speak to European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen around now to sign off on the deal.
