AVA, N.Y. A proposed retreat center, in the town of Ava, with a spa, gardens, fitness trails and amphitheater, has residents fired up. Some showed up at a planning board meeting Wednesday night, shouting and swearing at the women behind the organization that wants to build the retreat.
An organization called Black Women s Blueprint presented plans to the Ava Planning Board for the Restore Forward Retreat Center and Campground. Members of the crowd shouted, we re not fooled by this whole ridiculous ruse of a rehab center. We re not buyin it, lady!

Air New Zealand s first direct passenger flight from Aotearoa to Adelaide in over a year has landed.
After the COVID-19 pandemic decimated international travel, Flight NZ191 left Auckland International Airport on Wednesday morning at 8:20am, on schedule.
The flight appeared to be about a quarter full and passengers were treated to a glass of bubbles for the occasion.

A seven-year-old girl has been confirmed as the fourth victim of a fatal house fire in Exeter.
Iviee-May Hall passed away last week, days after her mother Kaylie Rudge, 28, her step-father Daniel Rudge, 29, and her four-year-old sister Lillie-Rose Rudge.
Two other children, a boy, nine, and a four-year-old boy - the twin brother of Lillie-Rose, were being treated in Bristol Children s Hospital.
Iviee-May was the daughter of Mrs Rudge and her ex-partner James Hall and died in intensive care last Thursday.
Officers were called to the blaze at a house in the St David s area of the city at about 5.30am on February 21.
