APPLICANTS I SPOKE WITH SAY THEY ENCOUNTERED A NUMBER OF ISSUES TRYING TO APPLY FOR RENTAL ASSISTANCE THIS AFTERNOON - ERROR MESSAGES, THE WEBSITE CRASHING. MAINEHOUSING THOUGH SAYS THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED AND THEY RE KEEPING AN EYE ON IT. THE AGENCY TOLD US IT CRASHED BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE TRIED TO USE IT AT ONCE. MAINE HOUSING SAYS THEY VE TAKEN STEPS TO ADD CAPACITY TO MEET DEMAND - ALSO SAYING APPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED ON A ROLLING BASIS AND THEY HAVE AMPLE FUNDING TO SERVE ALL WHO QUALIFY. I SPOKE WITH A SOUTH PORTLAND MOTHER WHO SAYS SHE WAS AT THE COMPUTER, READY TO GO AT LAUNCH AND STRUGGLED TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION.
Students and staff in schools across County Wexford are buzzing with excitement this week ahead of the national Junk Kouture finals which will take place on Thursday, February 4.
Anticipation is particularly high in Coláíste Bríde in Enniscorthy as the school has six entries in the finals.
The other entries from schools around the county that will also feature in the final include: St Mary s CBS, Enniscorthy - Fury Runway, created by Alan White, Michael Bodnaruk, and Nicholas Howe; St Peter s College, Wexford - Cognitive Conflict, created by Cade Gardener, Daniel Brennan, and Abban Moran; Presentation Secondary School, Wexford - I Can Do It, created by Molly Calder, Lily Stoutt, and Lucy Walsh; Gorey Community School - Kabloom, created by Holly Meehan, Siofra Byrne, and Melissa Popovici; Coláiste An Átha, Kilmuckrodge - Spin Me Right Round, created by Maria Whelan, Sophie Whelan and Kerry-Ann Murphy; FCJ Bunclody - , created by Michelle Kearns, Leah Kidd, Orlagh Kehoe.
