Meaning behind message painted on Bilal Hamze s coffin

A message scrolled onto the side of slain crime boss Bilal Hamze s coffin could be seen as a warning to those that gunned him down in a hail of bullets. The words Every soul shall taste death were seen painted on the side of the green box carrying Hamze s body during his funeral service on Wednesday at Lakemba Mosque, in south-west Sydney. The 34-year-old was killed in a brazen drive-by execution on Bridge Street, near Sydney s Circular Quay, at about 10.25pm on Thursday last week after a huge underworld contract was placed on his head by a rival criminal group.

Shooting death of crime boss Bilal Hamze a brutal, execution-style murder

NSW Police have labelled the shooting death of crime boss Bilal Hamze a “brutal, execution-style murder” and say it was extremely fortunate no members of the public were injured in the process. Officers were called to the intersection of Bridge St and Pitt St in Sydney’s CBD around 10:30pm on Thursday evening following reports a man was shot outside a popular restaurant. The man, identified as 34-year-old Bilal Hamze, was treated at the scene but later died at St Vincent’s Hospital from the injuries. “This was a brutal, execution-style murder and was carried out in a busy street in the middle of Sydney CBD,” said Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty. “It was extremely fortunate that no members of the public were injured and investigations continue. “We will work with specialist police to ensure the safety of the community is our priority.”
