REPORT | Tony Ferguson vs. Beneil Dariush Slated For UFC 262 On May 15
Former interim UFC lightweight champion, Tony ‘El Cucuy’ Ferguson is in line for his Octagon return as he attempts to snap a two-fight skid at UFC 262 on May 15 drawing the #9 ranked contender, surging grappler, Beneil Dariush.
Dropping two consecutive fights for the first time in his career during the course of last year, the Oxnard native first blemished in a short-notice interim title affair against fellow former interim gold holder, Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 last May in Jacksonville, Florida.
For longtime Kings MMA trainee, Dariush, the Iranian born grappler managed to lodge his sixth consecutive win recently at UFC Vegas 18 knocking back then-streaking contender, Diego Ferreira via unanimous decision in their February rematch. MMA Junkie reporters, Danny Segura, Mike Bohn, and John Morgan were first to report the news of the matchup.

Joseph Benavidez started fighting in 2006, and by 2010 was 12-1 heading into his first major title fight, a rematch with Dominick Cruz, for the WEC Bantamweight Championship; Benavidez lost a Split Decision. He won four in a row, and in 2010 fought Demetrious Johnson for the inaugural UFC flyweight championship; again, Benavidez lost a Split Decision. He won three more in row, and in 2013 got a rematch vs. Johnson, but was stopped in Round 1.
Coach Kavanagh: Conor McGregor wants Dustin Poirier rematch before summer

Just two days on from his knockout loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 and Conor McGregor is already ‘harassing everybody’ about the rematch, according to coach John Kavanagh.
McGregor had won the first round on the judge’s scorecards but was stopped in the second after Poirier dropped him with a flurry of punches against the cage.
Kavanagh, who has coached McGregor since the latter was a teen, said ‘The Notorious’ wants to get back in the cage ASAP and would like to face Poirier in a trilogy bout before the summer.

Brandon Moreno scooped plaudits for his daring and action-packed fight with Deiveson Figueiredo at this month’s UFC 256. The ‘Assassin Baby’ went toe-to-toe with the ‘God of War’ to earn a draw. That wasn’t good enough to swipe Figueiredo’s UFC flyweight title, but it likely earned him an immediate rematch and plenty of votes on various Fight of the Year rankings.
However, Moreno doesn’t think his five round war with Figueiredo should top such a list. Instead, he thinks the honours should go to a pair of strawweights who threw down near the beginning of 2020.
