When he isn t serving as Columbia s Ward 5 city councilman, Danny Coleman works as a consultant for the Tennessee Small Business Development Center and is reaching out to help area businesses grow.
The TSBDC is a network of consultants, which act as matchmaker for small business owners when it comes to topics ranging from applying for a loan or grant to marketing and building a business plan.
Coleman will hold a free virtual seminar at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 25.

Sourland Conservancy uncorks ‘happy hour’ music series

Singer-songwriter Bruce Fredericks will perform online 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, to kick off the Sourland Conservancy s monthly happy hour virtual concert series.sourland.org

The Sourland Conservancy will host “The Sourland Mountain Happy Hour,” a new monthly series of live musical shows on Zoom featuring New Jersey artists, starting this 6 p.m. this Thursday with singer and guitarist Bruce Fredericks.
The series will continue the first Thursday each month through June. Tickets for each one-hour performance are $10. Proceeds will benefit the Sourland Conservancy and the musicians.

Washington – Joe Biden’s inauguration Wednesday will include at least two guests who know all about the soon-to-be 46th president’s links to Syracuse and Central New York.
Rep. John Katko, who like Biden is a graduate of Syracuse University’s law school, plans to attend the inauguration with Gavin Coleman, whose grandfather opened Coleman’s Authentic Irish Pub in Syracuse in 1933.

Columbia City Council now has a new board and new agenda to begin its 2021 round of meetings, beginning with the swearing in of three new members.
On Tuesday, each council member was sworn in as part of a special-called meeting.
Council members serving their first terms include DaVena Hardison, Ward 1, Kenny Marshall, Ward 4 and Danny Coleman, Ward 5. Council members Ken Wiles, Ward 2 and Anthony Greene, Ward 3, were also sworn in for another four-year term. 2020 was a very challenging year for our city, for all of our residents, but we were able to, through the grace of God and good management, manage through 2020, Mayor Chaz Molder said.
