나이가 든다는 것의 의미를 잘 모르는 대다수 아이들은 그저 자신의 시간에 집중한다. 아이들은 자신들이 놀고 시간을 보내는 바로 그때를 즐긴다. 그래서 대부분 유년기 시절의 좋은 추억을 하나쯤은 가지고 있을 것이다.
청소년기를 넘어 어른이 되면 몸에 커지고 아는 것도 조금은 더 많아진다. 어떤 방식으로 살아가야 할지를 생각하고 그 방향으로 나아간다. 간혹 집을 떠나 새로운 곳으로 향해 나아가기도 한다. 그렇다면 어른이 된다는 것은 아이일 때 가지고 있던 동심과 순수함, 천진함이 사라지는 것을 의미할까. 그렇지는 않을 것이다.
