While some companies are struggling to deliver Android 11 to some of 2020 smartphones, Google is progressing with the development of Android 12. As the months are passing, the search giant is pushing its new firmware close to a stable release. Today, the search giant is rolling out the third developer preview. The release is right on schedule for Google’s launch timeline and precedes a beta launch which is scheduled for May. We expect this to coincide with the virtual edition of Google I/O. The company is expected to reveal all its plans with Android 12 and detail the update during its developer-centric conference.

In a few weeks time, the Google I/O 2021 will open its doors. Well, it will still be a virtual event but we are excited since the tech giant cancelled last year’s event due to the pandemic. There is still the ongoing pandemic but companies are moving on to the New Normal. This includes holding events virtually and online. Before the tech conference starts, here is the Android development team releasing the next version of Android 12 Developer Preview.
Android 12 Developer Preview 3 is ready. It brings new features and improvements to the released versions so the system is better when it comes to performance, security, and privacy. The updated version offers a new app launch experience, new permission for exact alarms, and new video and camera capabilities.

One of the smaller but more interesting changes spotted in Android 12 Developer Preview 3 is a new level of granular control over apps that can access the notification listener service. In Android 11, it s an all-or-nothing switch: either a helper app (like Android Wear, Android Auto, or Fitbit) can access all your notification data, or it can t. Starting with A12 DP3, things are a little more subtle.
The new version of this Settings screen (Apps & Notifications>Special App Access>Notification access in A11, Notifications>Device & app notifications in A12) used to have just one toggle for all notifications. Now it breaks them down into four groups: real-time, conversations, default, and silent. In Google s brand-new Developer Preview 3 release of Android 12, the Settings menu looks a little different. Compared to both Android 11 and A12 DP2, the updated version is prettier and less dense, but does away with the subheadings to make it a little less clear where various options are. It also gets some new bouncy animations when scrolling. It s the new look for the Settings menu, previously hidden behind an ADB command and labelled silky home.
As many commenters have noted, the new default for the Settings menu looks a lot like Samsung s OneUI, with its much wider items and lack of subtitles. The whole feel is generally more friendly, but less informative.

The changes can be seen across all of the OS. When you pull up the app drawer on your homescreen, you ll notice rounder corners at the top as you move up the panel. Similarly, app previews in the multitasking overview also come with much rounder corners. The volume slider is in for an even more significant redesign, much like a redone brightness slider that popped up in a previous developer preview. It s now a rounded vertical pill, filled with your accent color depicting the current vol
