MOUNT VERNON, AL (WALA) Family members and law enforcement officials still can’t find Devon Jones. A local volunteer rescue group is stepping in to help with the search. Geaux Rescue said they will be in Mount Vernon at 9am Friday morning.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said the 20-year-old ran into the woods after his car crashed head-on into a SUV on Coy Smith Highway in Mount Vernon Tuesday.
Deputies say Devon was passing someone on the two lane highway and didn’t get back over in time. The crash sent one woman to the hospital by helicopter.
Tulsa Police Officer charged with making false statements to a firearms dealer
A Tulsa police officer was indicted by a federal grand jury this week on allegations that she facilitated the straw purchase of a gun for a man with whom she was romantically involved and who now faces multiple felony charges.
Officer Latoya Dythe, 26, is charged with conspiracy to make a false statement to a firearms dealer and with making a false statement to a firearms dealer stemming from a visit to the Broken Arrow Bass Pro Shops store with alleged co-conspirator Devon Jones in April, officials announced at a press conference Thursday.

A Tulsa Police officer has been indicted on federal gun charges.
U.S. Attorney Trent Shores announced Thursday 26-year-old Latoya Dythe faces charges for allegedly making a false statement to a firearms dealer. Shores said Dythe took cash from her boyfriend, 27-year-old Devon Jones, and bought a gun for him from Bass Pro Shops in April. She marked on a required form she was buying it for herself, a practice known as a straw purchase.
