A Killeen man has been charged with allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman on Monday.
According to an affidavit for arrest, an officer responded to a call in reference to an assault Monday. The officer said he met with a woman who stated Devon Johnson had assaulted her.
The woman told police Johnson struck and kicked her. The officer also noted that the woman had a swollen nose and had red marks near her cheek. The woman also told police she had just informed Johnson that she was pregnant.
Johnson is charged with assault of a pregnant person.

Sheridan Co School District 2 held a Teacher Roundtable Board Meeting on May 10 at the Central Office of SCSD#2. Teachers Jen Black, Kevin Rizer, Devon Johnston and Ed Caulkins spoke on various subjects such as recognizing teachers accomplishments during the year, and letting them know they are appreciated for what they do. When asked by Trustee Arin Waddell asked Kevin Rizer, Sheridan High School Teachers, what he felt the school and the community could do to let teachers know they were appreciated, he had this to say.

In a survey of the staff, it was reported that 94% felt they beloned in the school where they work; 98% believe that student learning is where it should be; 84% felt recognized for the work they do; and 91% feel listened to and that they can air their concerns and share ideas.

Shirley L. Lambert, 98, died peacefully on Monday, April 5, 2021, at the home of her loving daughter and son-in-law.
She was born on Nov. 28, 1922 in Williamsport, daughter of the late Harry B. and Aletha C. Thompson.
Shirley graduated from the Williamsport Area High School in 1940 and later attended and graduated from Williamsport Dickinson Seminary. She took great pride in her 30-year career as a legal secretary for J. Neafie Mitchell.
She married Bernard C. Lambert on May 9, 1944 in Williamsport and together they raised their daughter, Debbie. “Pooch” and “Spike” can now celebrate their 77th wedding anniversary together eternally.
Shirley’s life embodied elegance and grace. She attended and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Williamsport.
