A 30-year-old KwaNobuhle man faces the full brunt of the law after allegedly raping and assaulting a five-year-old girl placed in his care.
The man, who is not being named to protect the identify of his alleged victim, pleaded guilty in the high court in Gqeberha this week to a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm but denied raping the daughter of the woman he is said to have once dated. ..

Mapu corruption case postponed to October PREMIUM By Devon Koen - 05 May 2021
Former Nelson Mandela Bay acting municipal manager Mvuleni Mapu will have to wait until October to find out if the state will be ready to proceed with corruption charges against him.
While Mapu wants the matter finalised as quickly as possible, state advocate Wilhelm de Villiers said the prosecution needed more time to decide if further charges would be added, or if more people would be charged in the matter.

Former metro admin clerk and mother-of-four Stephanie Reeners was sentenced to an effective seven years behind bars for fraud and forgery amounting to R640,000 on Tuesday.
Reeners who admitted to the thefts had been employed as an administration clerk at the Nelson Mandela Bay municipality’s Central Information Centre (CIC), where she volunteered to perform some of the duties of the CIC assistant, which included the submission of building plans to the building inspectorate division.
