The city of Mountain View and the Mountain View Whisman School District are working through an apparent impasse over perimeter fencing the district proposed for its Monta Loma School campus on Thompson Avenue – fencing residents claim limits access to open space.
At their Feb. 23 meeting, city council members forwarded a letter from Mayor Ellen Kamei to district board president Devon Conley stating council priorities related to the proposed fencing project.
The Mountain View Whisman School District, hamstrung by state guidelines that restrict schools from reopening until the countywide coronavirus case rate drops, is in no rush to plan for in-person learning.
