Certn announces $43 million raised in the last last year
In the last year, Victoria-based startup Certn, which develops human risk intelligence solutions, has raised $43 million CAD over three separate funding rounds, with the latest being a $9.5 million Series A extension.
The Series A extension, which closed in December, was led by Telstra Ventures and B Capital Group, with funding also provided by Cyber Mentor Fund.

Bengaluru-based Mobile Premier League (MPL) has raised $95 million in a Series D round led by Composite Capital and Moore Strategic Ventures, taking the mobile eSports company’s valuation to $945 million.
The investment takes MPL closer to becoming the second major unicorn in Indian gaming industry. Mumbai based fantasy gaming platform Dream 11 with estimated valuation of $1-$1.5 billion was the first startup in the gaming industry to acquire the coveted unicorn status.
MPL plans to use the new funds to expand its overseas business in 2021 and also to grow its eSports portfolio by organising more tournaments at national and international level.

Mobile Premier League (MPL) has raised $95 million in a new financing round, just five months after it secured $90 million as the two-and-a-half-year-old Bangalore-based esports and gaming platform looks to grow in international markets.
The new $95 million round, a Series D, was led by Composite Capital and Moore Strategic Ventures and gave the Indian startup a post-money valuation of $945 million, it said. Base Partners, RTP Global, SIG, Go-Ventures, Telstra Ventures, Founders Circle and Play Ventures also participated in the round, which brings its total to-date raise to $225.5 million.

Mobile Premier League, Asia’s largest eSports and mobile gaming platform, is now valued at $945 million after raising $95 million in a Series D round.
The round was led by Composite Capital and Moore Strategic Ventures, with participation from Base Partners, RTP Global, SIG, Go-Ventures, Telstra Ventures, Founders Circle and Play Ventures. The total capital raised by MPL since its inception in 2018 now stands at $225.5 million.
The MPL gaming platform has over 60 million users in India and over 3.5 million users in Indonesia. With over 50 games across categories on its Android and iOS applications currently, MPL has worked with 28 game developers to publish their games on the platform and provide them with a new revenue stream.
