The data lakehouse – it’s not a summer retreat for over-worked database administrators (DBAs) or data scientists, it’s a concept that tries to bridge the gap between the data warehouse and the data lake.
In other words, the data lakehouse aims to marry the flexibility and relatively low cost of the data lake with the ease of access and support for enterprise analytics capabilities found in data warehouses.
Decent statistical knowledge and some experience with machine learning models.
Experience processing, analyzing and visualizing data.
We work mostly with SQL and Python (especially using pandas andplotly), but we will welcome anyone with a similar experience (R, Matlab, SAGE or other statistical languages).
Attention to detail, patience to answer questions and dig deeper.
Ability to take big and abstractquestionand break it down to smaller tasks.
Willingness to learn and explore.
Good communication skills in English.
Knowledge of Spark, Delta Lake, or other open-source big-data tools, and distributed computing of large-scale data.
Experience with development and validation of machine learning models.
Fireworks
While not taking place on the holiday itself, Utica s Independence Day Fireworks Celebration will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday, July 5, at F.T. Proctor Park at the corner of Rutger Street and Culver Avenue in East Utica. A shuttle from Mohawk Valley Community College’s Payne Hall will run from 6:30 p.m. until after the fireworks. A vaccination clinic for anyone age 12 and older will run from 5 to 8 p.m. at the site.

Local band Soul Injection will play at 7:30 p.m. at the celebration, but the band also will hold a roster of performances over the holiday weekend:
