PM orders inquiry into mishandling of widow sisters complaint at Citizen Portal   Published On A joint application of two widow sisters was lodged on February 23, 2021. ISLAMABAD (APP) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday taken serious note of the complaint by two widow sisters at Pakistan Citizen Portal and ordered inquiry against Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Rawalpindi on the mishandling of their case. The prime minister directed the Chief Secretary’s Office to order a fact-finding inquiry into the matter by nominating a senior-level officer, initiate action thereafter under the rules and submit the report by May 31. He directed Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU) to carry out a performance evaluation of the dashboards of all revenue officers in the Rawalpindi Division.

BU Professor supports Freetown, Sierra Leone in building resilience following catastrophic fire Professor Lee Miles, Professor of Crisis and Disaster Management at BU, has provided training for local disaster managers in Freetown, Sierra Leone less than two months after a catastrophic fire in the city. In March 2021, fire engulfed the Susan’s Bay community in Ward 427 in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone. The fire affected the homes and livelihoods of over 7,000 people and required a national-level disaster response. Professor Miles has been a leading contributor to a dedicated international training initiative to further train local disaster managers following the fire.

Her previous posts include Director of Crime and Drugs Strategy in the Home Office, a secondment to the Metropolitan Police (Met) as Strategy Director and, as part of what was Department for Energy & Climate Change ( DECC), Director for Civil Nuclear Security, Emergency Planning and Non-proliferation, as well as nuclear decommissioning, including Sellafield. Vanessa initially joined the Civil Service Fast Stream in the Department for Education (DfE) after spending the early part of her career at the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, and then a secondary school in North London. She moved from DfE to spend 3 years in the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit, pursuing an interest in good government. Whilst at the Met, Vanessa volunteered for 4 years as a Special Constable, patrolling regularly in the West End of London.
