The Wilmington area, in the world spotlight now more than ever before because of President-elect Joe Biden, will need a new leader to promote it.
Sarah Ridgway Willoughby, who has been executive director of the Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau since 2008, is leaving the position in June.
Willoughby is moving to Hernando, Florida, with her husband, Gary, who retired this past summer.
The news came shortly after Biden left Delaware on Tuesday afternoon to become the nation s 46th president. Biden departed not from the Wilmington train station that bears his name, but from New Castle s Delaware National Guard Center, named for his late son, who died at age 46.
