When Michele Rice talks about Li’Aziah Thomas, the youngest of her 10 grandchildren, she smiles as she recalls the animated conversations the 18-month-old used to have on her toy cell phone, a Christmas gift Rice gave the child that lights up when numbers are touched.
“You just gonna be on the phone all day?” Rice said she’d ask the girl, the daughter of her son Anthony Thomas.
Then her voice cracked and she began to cry as reality overtook the memories.

LANSDOWNE, PA A jealous ex-boyfriend admitted killing a Delaware County woman back in November 2020, authorities announced Wednesday.
Charges have been filed against Benjamin Boykins, 34, of Philadelphia, for the murder of Tanika Kirkpatrick, 43, of Lansdowne. Boykins has been charged with first-, second- and third- degree murder, criminal homicide, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, and abuse of corpse, authorities said
Authorities said that Boykins told them he saw photographs of Kirkpatrick with other men on her phone, which caused him to become angry. He admitted choking her to death. He said he then carried the victim out of the house in a bag, took the body to his home, and then hid the body in a trash can.

CHESTER, PA A Delaware County murder suspect has been taken into custody in South Carolina recently, according to authorities.
The Delaware County District Attorney s Office and the City of Chester Police Department announced the arrest of Nasir Frisby, 42, of Chester, in connection with the July 28, 2020, homicide at the Candlewood Suites, at 351 Welsh St. in Chester.
Firsby was arrested on Jan. 26 by the Conway Police Department in South Carolina. He is being housed at the J. ReubenLong Detention Center located in Hoory County, South Carolina.

SECANE, PA Felony firearm sale charges have been filed against a Delaware County man who is accused of buying guns for people who are legally prohibited from owning them due to convictions.
District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said James Ennis, 45, of Secane, has been charged with the illegal sale of firearms, making materially false statements in connection with the purchase of firearms, the sale of firearms to an ineligible purchaser, and criminal conspiracy, all felonies.
Authorities allege Ennis bought multiple guns for people who are barred from possessing guns after being convicted of crimes.
