The second annual Fairview Farms Mother’s Day Plant Sale to support Frontier baseball will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outdoors at the South Deerfield Senior Center.
There will be a wide selection of 10-12 inch hanging baskets and patio pots along with various annuals, round pots and bedding plants.
Safety and social distancing measures will be in place.

Subscriber only The Banana Shire Council has voted to endorse five principles it would like to ensue in the lead up to the closure of the Callide power stations in the coming decades. Chief executive officer Tom Upton told the council s ordinary meeting on April 28 the Callide B and Callide C power stations were set to close in the future due to scheduled end of life. The Callide B station is set to wrap up its operations in 2028 and Callide C is projected to close in 2038. I think that council needs to adopt a position in terms of what happens to the community after this happens, Mr Upton said.

Teresa Varner had a shot to remember on Thursday at the Country Club of Greenfield.
Varner scored her second career hole-in-one, with the shot coming at No. 5 from 125 yards out.
Alane Smith and Terry Boyce were witness to the ace.
Baseball
Registration is underway for the Greenfield Baseball Association’s summer season, as the organization is seeking players to compete on both their Sandy Koufax and Mickey Mantle teams.

Terry Boyce, 65, of Marietta, passed away Dec. 7, 2020, at his residence under the loving care of his family and Amedisys Hospice of Marietta. A private cremation will take place at Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society.
