Farmington school board back in business with all seats, positions filled
Following a flurry of resignations and transfers of power, Farmington s board of education is back to being a fully seated board with all leadership positions filled.
The board selected Donald Walker Jan. 12 to fill the vacancy left by Pam Green when she resigned from her position on the board in November 2020. Walker, one of six applicants, will serve through 2022.
Walker s appointment along with newly-elected members Cheryl Blau, Mable Fox and Claudia Henrich s presence on the board means the body has a majority of new members. As new members, Walker and Henrich will serve as officers on the board as well.

The district did welcome back special education students for half-day instruction in early September, but that in-person instruction was short lived.
The Board of Education voted 4-0 Nov. 24 to approve pausing special education services, as well as early childhood services, throughout the district until at least Jan. 11. Board member Angie Smith was absent from the meeting.

FARMINGTON/HILLS Newly elected Farmington Public Schools Board of Education candidates Cheryl Blau and Mable Fox will begin their terms as trustees in the district a bit earlier than scheduled.
By 5-0 votes for each, Blau was appointed to fill former Board President Pam Green’s seat until January, at which time she will resign and be sworn in to her elected six-year term, and Fox was appointed to complete the rest of Vice President Terry Johnson’s days in office. Johnson’s term expired at the end of 2020, so Fox will not be legally required to resign.
