The A19 was closed in both directions after the accident on the flyover
The A19 has reopened in both directions at the Tees flyover after a serious accident involving a car and a lorry. Traffic was queuing on both sides of the major road.
The collision happened on the southbound carriageway but the road was fully closed in both directions as emergency services attended. A diversion was in place via the Portrack interchange, Stockton, where traffic joined the A66 at Surtees Bridge before rejoining the A19.
