Apple has donated the mural at its Pioneer Place Apple Store in Portland, Oregon to Don t Shoot Portland, a Black-led human rights nonprofit that advocates for accountability.
Don t Shoot Portland is a Black-led human rights nonprofit that advocates for accountability. Since 2014, we have implemented art, education and civic participation within our programming to create social change.
The organization announced the donation on Wednesday, January 21, saying that they have accepted the responsibility of preserving the Apple @ Pioneer Place panels that reflect the responses of so many that were witnesses to this summers uprisings and the joint call to action against institutionalized violence and white nationalism.

Birmingham police investigate the robbery of the MetroPCS store on Graymont Avenue West. A store clerk is in UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot in the chest by the suspect, who is being sought by police.

A man sought in the October shooting of a Birmingham store clerk is now in custody.
Daniel Terrell Johnson, 30, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail just before 6 p.m. Tuesday. Jail records show he is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, one count of attempted murder, probation violation and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS Leading Woman Marine Arlene Mackey was recognized as Marine of the Year for the Headquarters Department on December 11, 2020, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RDBF) announced today.
Mackey, a 16-year-veteran, according to an RBDF statement, was presented with a plaque and other awards from Commodore Dr Raymond King during a luncheon reception at the RBDF Headquarters on John F Kennedy Drive.

MONROE COUNTY, Ga. A chase that began in Monroe County and ended in Bibb County resulted in the discovery of three kilograms of methamphetamine and a stolen gun on Saturday night, authorities said.
A Georgia State Patrol trooper and two Monroe County sheriff s deputy were injured as a result of the chase that began at around 8:50 p.m. in Monroe County.
The sheriff s office said they attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle occupied by John Terrell Johnson and Tosha Kidd. The motorcycle did not stop and a chase began.
