Three women were arrested after police said they played a role in leaving a pig s head at the past home of a former officer who testified in defense of Derek Chauvin.
Rowan Dalbey, 20, Kristen Aumoithe, 34, and Amber Lucas, 35, were apprehended in California on Wednesday after the execution of a series of search warrants, the Santa Rosa Police Department wrote.
The trio, on April 19, allegedly threw the decapitated pig s head at the former residence of Barry Brodd, who said Chauvin was justified and objectively reasonable in kneeling on George Floyd s neck for over nine minutes on May 25, 2020. The victim’s house was the previous residence of Mr. Barry Brodd, police wrote. Mr. Brodd recently testified for the defense in Minneapolis Police Officer Derrick [sic] Chauvin’s trial. Federal grand jury brings indictments against former Minneapolis police officers who murdered George Floyd
The four former Minneapolis police officers who participated in the murder of George Floyd last year were indicted on Friday by a grand jury with charges of federal civil rights crimes. Separately, Derrick Chauvin who was found guilty on April 20 of all three counts of murder for kneeling on George Floyd’s neck and causing his asphyxiation was also indicted on two counts of civil rights violations for a 2017 assault on a Minneapolis teenager.
The two grand jury indictments filed in the US District Court of Minnesota were published by the US Department of Justice along with a press release that states, “The first indictment charges former Minneapolis Police Department officers Derek Chauvin, 45; Tou Thao, 35; J. Alexander Kueng, 27; and Thomas Lane, 38, with federal civil rights crimes for their roles in the death of George Perry Floyd Jr.”
Federal Grand Jury Indicts Four Former Minneapolis Cops In George Floyd’s Death
A federal grand jury has indicted four former Minneapolis officers in connection with George Floyd’s death.
As reported on CNN, the former cops violated Floyd’s constitutional rights. According to court documents filed in federal court in Minnesota, Derrick Chauvin “deprived Floyd of the right to be free from “unreasonable seizure. This includes the right to be free from the use of unreasonable force by a police officer.” Chauvin was convicted last month on state murder charges.
According to the indictment, Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng were also charged with their failure to intervene in Chauvin’s use of unreasonable force. Chauvin, Thao, Kueng, and the fourth officer, Thomas Lane, all face a charge for failing to give Floyd medical aid. KTVU sat down with Edith Arenales, the mother of Mario Gonzalez, who died in Alameda police custody.
ALAMEDA, Calif. - Mario Gonzelez had been looking out for his family since he was 12 years old and his father split, leaving behind his mother and three younger brothers.
After graduating from Coliseum College Preparatory in Oakland, Gonzalez had planned to go to Alameda College. But he delayed those dreams to help his mom with the bills and care for his younger brother who suffers from severe autism.
