Speed a heavy focus, as Police target road trauma
Police across the South West will be out in force across the Easter Long Weekend, with the road policing Operation Nexus commencing this morning.
The Easter Operation will run until 11.59pm on Monday, with police to be targeting speed, drink and drug driving and mobile phone use.
With large numbers of people traveling long distances or on unfamiliar roads to get to holiday destinations, police will also be targeting fatigue, asking drivers to rest regularly. We re asking people to slow down and not make those poor decisions to speed or drive while impaired said Warrnambool Police Senior Sergeant Shane Keogh.
