Former teacher and long time volunteer recognised as Citizen Of The Year
Former primary school teacher and long-time Warrnambool volunteer Rosemary Isaac has been honoured with this year’s Warrnambool Citizen of the Year award.
Ms Isaac has been involved in a range of community organisations over several years including the Warrnambool Primary School, Warrnambool Family History Group, Warrnambool and District Historical Society, Cheese World Museum and the South West Branch of the Embroiders Guild of Victoria.
“There are some very illustrious people who have won before me,” she said.
“Most of my work is done in teams, so it’s not just me, but I hope this might bring a bit of notice to all of the groups.”

Moyne Celebrates Community Heroes
As part of its Australia Day celebrations, the Moyne Shire Council has recognised those individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to their community, as part of their 2021 Australia Day Awards.
Elizabeth Moore, fondly known as ‘Bev’ has been recognised as the shire s Citizen Of The Year, with her commitment to her local community having had a lasting impact on many lives.
A Mother to nine children, 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, community involvement has been a core part of Mrs Moore’s life.
Mrs Moore helps with the annual Royal Children’s Hospital auction, helping to raise more than $11,000 each year for the appeal, while she is also a long-standing member of the Garvoc Cemetery Trust.

50 for 50 finishes in victory for McFadden

After a spectacular two nights of racing, James McFadden took home $15,000 for winning the second night of the 50 for Fifty at Premier Speedway.
Night one saw the NQ7 of Lockie McHugh have a fantastic night, setting QuickTime, winning his heat, the A dash and taking the A-main win, his 13th for the season, ahead of S52, Matt Egel in 2nd and V3, Darren Mollenoyux rounding out the podium in 3rd.
Night one also saw Supercars star Cameron Waters race his V6 sprint car at premier speedway for the first time.
