NORTH CANTON Community Christian Church has been awarded a nearly $50,000 grant from the 2020 Lilly Endowment National Clergy Renewal Program.
It will allow the Rev. Sarah Taylor Peck, senior pastor, to participate in a 3 1/2-month “renewal leave.”
In its role of administering the Lilly Endowment National Clergy Renewal Program, the Christian Theological Seminary has awarded grants to 140 congregations located in 36 states.
Taylor Peck is the first Canton area resident to receive the funding. She is one of three women clergy in Ohio receiving this year’s grant.
“Like many others, the ministry is a profession which requires availability to respond to those in my congregation 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Taylor Peck said in a statement.
