As the 2021 tournament heads into its traditional rest day on middle Sunday, lets looks back on the some of the first week s magical moments:

The crowd may have cheered Andy Murray to the rafters as he showed his mental resilience and flashes of his old brilliance but at the end it was not enough to see the former world number one into the second week.

Roger Federer moved into the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament for the 69th time on Saturday, overcoming a raucous home crowd and the last British man in the draw Cameron Norrie in an entertaining 6-4, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 win at Wimbledon.
Federer kept his dream alive of a record-extending ninth singles title.
On the women s side, Australia s world number one Ashleigh Barty looked a bit more fluent after two inconsistent performances in moving into the Last 16.
The 25-year-old s 6-3, 7-5 win over Katerina Siniakova reassured her fans she can win the title on the 50th anniversary of fellow indigenous Australian Evonne Goolagong Cawley s first Wimbledon crown.

After a one-year gap, the world’s top tennis players returned to the All England Club in London to participate in Wimbledon 2021. And despite the tournament being called off in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the allure of the only grass-court Grand Slam wasn’t diminished in the slightest. It is, after all, the game’s most coveted tournament.
The first week of Wimbledon saw some breathtaking tennis along with a number of upsets in both the women’s and men’s draws. Roger Federer has often been the spectators darling on Centre Court for two decades but the eight-time Wimbledon champion will have to cede that role to British opponent Cameron Norrie on Saturday.
Federer s clinical performance against Richard Gasquet on Thursday contrasted to an error-strewn one by Australia s women s world number one Ashleigh Barty.
