SALT LAKE CITY An Amtrak passenger was arrested Sunday after police say he made a bomb threat, forcing Amtrak to evacuate one of its passenger rail cars.
Demond Oran Alexander, 45, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail early Sunday for investigation of making a false alarm, making a terroristic threat and possessing someone else’s ID.
Salt Lake police say the incident happened on an Amtrak train headed to Salt Lake City from Reno. About 20 minutes outside of Salt Lake City, Alexander approached the conductor and dropped a note in front of him, according to a police affidavit.
