Memorial Day observed in Farmington

FARMINGTON Unlike last year when most activities and events were canceled, this year things are somewhat back to normal.
Area Fulton County communities observed Memorial Day including Farmington where they had speakers, laying of the wreath and a walk to the cemetery to name a few.

Writer’s block really stinks. I’ve been plagued by it for a good month or so.
Generally, I can pound out a story in an hour; maybe two depending upon how in-depth it is.
Here lately, it’s taking me six or seven hours to write a feature and I struggle terribly when I do write said feature.
I’ve had it before and usually it works itself out in a few weeks. This time, though, it has been more than a month.
It’s kind of a work hazard given every project requires a fair amount of words. Well, let’s be honest, it’s all words all the time!

CANTON-Spoon River Partnership for Economic Development Executive Director, Cole McDaniel, presented positive news to Canton Council at their recent meeting.
He said over the course of the last 45 days he’s had 17 inquiries regarding potential businesses.
At present, there are eight projects in the works including a company that would like to develop student housing.
He said the work for the new Casey’s opening has been sidetracked for about two weeks as the project hit a minor snag. However, they are in the process of rectifying the situation and work should resume shortly.
Arby’s is still coming to Canton, though they are slightly behind schedule.
