Irish Boxing Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan [30(21)-4(3)] will fight for the first time since January of 2020 in Belgium later this month. The light-middleweight world title hopeful will look to put middleweight defeat to Mexican Jaime Munguia behind him with victory on a 12 Rounds and Murphys Boxing promoted card. The Cork favourite is penciled in to fight Nodar Robakidze [15(5)-35(10)-6] at the Country Hall, Sart Tilman, Liege. The well-traveled and experienced journeyman has to potential to give puncher O’Sullivan much-needed rounds but no doubt ‘Spike’ will be looking to win inside the distance. It lasted all of one minute before the Victorian fighter accused Tszyu of fighting Venezuelan taxi drivers while Tszyu returned serve by labelling his opponent a YouTube fighter.

The fight will be coming to the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on July 7, welcome news to the ears of Zerafa who had long been agitating for this fight. Zerafa (28-4, 17 KO) is coming off a first-round TKO over a well-past-his-prime Anthony Mundine in a pretty unfortunate piece of matchmaking. Mundine is a legend in Australian boxing, but at 45 should not have been put in with someone like Zerafa. Tszyu (18-0, 14 KO) last fought in March against two-time world title challenger Dennis Hogan, stopping him in the fifth round. Tszyu and Zerafa have several shared opponents, most notably fellow Aussie Jeff Horn.

I’ve left that up to the MTK management team here, which is actually quite a problem. The problem is that I’ve come here and they’re trying to get into a phone box in a boxing ring. [The stadium] it is hundreds and hundreds of meters long and they want to stick about 16 [or] 18 meter ring in the middle.
