A man working at an unnamed self-storage construction site in Franklin, Tenn., was killed on Friday morning when he was struck by the boom pipe from a concrete pump truck. The Franklin Fire Department (FFD) was called to the accident on Hospitality Drive at 6:44 a.m., according to sources.
The worker, whose name hasn’t been released, was standing at least 15 feet down in the building foundation when the crew began to pour in concrete, according to FFD Captain Jose Periut. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is underway, and the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified, Periut said.
