Winter Solstice bike challenge in memory of Stu Pod Fowles

THE memory of popular sports fan Stuart Fowles will be honoured in a sunrise to sunset bike ride challenge today (Saturday). Friends and family of Stu Pod Fowles will be setting off on their bikes from outside from the Gerard Arms pub at sunrise at 8.24 today. The challenge will see them cycling until sunset scheduled for 3.53pm, finishing at Liverpool St Helens Rugby Club, where Pod played. Stuart Pod Fowles died, aged 50, last Saturday (October 31) after a short illness, leading to hundreds of tributes being made to a kind and gentle man . Stuart was a big Saints fan and also played rugby union at Liverpool St Helens where he was a well respected member.
