Subscriber only It s a grand vision and they can t afford it, but Tenterfield Shire Council will this year showcase plans for a major overhaul of the Tenterfield Memorial War Bath. At the last council meeting of the year in 2020, councillors voted to support option two in the draft master plan and feasibility study. It features a new 25m and a family pool, an indoor pool with new change rooms, new entry and a cafe. Â Â Spectator seating has been provided in the design on two sides of the new 25m pool and the family leisure pool has grass and shade adjacent to the pool, the draft master plan report states.

Another deluge is forecast for the northeast corner of NSW with waterlogged soil, swollen rivers and intense rainfall likely to result in flooding.
The Bureau of Meteorology on Wednesday afternoon warned severe thunderstorms are likely to hit Grafton, Tenterfield, Inverell, Moree Wagga Wagga, and West Wyalong. Heavy rainfall is expected to fall in those areas and dealing with very saturated soils to heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding, meteorologist Melody Sturm told reporters.
Riverine flooding is also possible, she warned, with flood watches issued for the Wilsons, Richmond, Orara, Bellinger and Kalang rivers.

Subscriber only WET and with middle-range temperatures is the forecast for the rest of the week in the Far North Coast of NSW, according to BOM. Meteorologist Helen Reid said rainfall is not expected to be to a point to cause flooding, but it may dampen some outdoor parties. The next couple of days (Monday and Tuesday) will see no rainfall, except for areas wet of Lismore, she said. From Wednesday, the devil is in the detail, but it looks like that Far North East corner may see a couple of showers late on Wednesday, but no thunderstorms.

When orchardist Paul Savins started 2020, he had been pushed to the absolute limit of what a man could take .
Years of intense drought had delivered him only one crop in three years, and his last drops of water were running out on his five-hectare cherry orchard in Tenterfield, New South Wales. I had to retreat from older trees that I could not water and watch them die, Mr Savins said. [There was] just barely enough to water to young trees … my mind said, That s not enough, that s not going to make it.
