William M. Clos, 43
William M. “Bill” Clos, an attorney with Harvey Kruse in Troy, died March 3 after a lengthy hospital stay due to problems from a surgical procedure. He was 43.
Mr. Clos was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and the Michigan State College of Law.
Mr. Clos is survived by his children Maria, William and David; his dear and loving friend, Sarah Stout Clos; his parents; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Adele Maire Gagliardi, 45
Adele Maire Gagliardi, an attorney who was serving as administrator of the Office of Policy Development and Research within the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration, died Feb. 3. She was 45.

After a year of economic upheaval, Michigan Economic Development Corp. CEO Mark Burton is leaving the quasi-governmental agency to become a partner and co-leader of Honigman LLP s economic development incentives group.
Burton, a longtime adviser and confidant to Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, left the governor s office last March to lead the MEDC on what was initially going to be a seven-month interim assignment while a new leader for the agency could be identified. But my first week here, the pandemic hit, Burton told Crain s. The second week, everybody went home for remote work. The nature of the crisis obviously dramatically changed what the expectation was.

DETROIT – Wayne County Judge Craig Strong is a Detroit icon who has done so much while on the bench, and continues to be a trailblazer even through his retirement.
Strong was born and raised on the west side of Detroit, but it wasn’t easy for him to get to where he is today.
“I am the grandson of a slave. My father’s mother was born in slavery before the Civil War,” Strong said.
A graduate of Cass Technical High School, Strong decided to enroll at Howard University.

Thomas J. Condon, 80
Thomas Joseph Condon, former president of Urban Engineering, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends. He was 80.
Mr. Condon, a graduate of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School, received his undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and his law degree from the Detroit College of Law.
Mr. Condon worked at Urban Engineering in Allen Park, beginning as a crew boss, then studying to become a registered land surveyor and, ultimately, becoming president of the company.
Mr. Condon was the only registered land surveyor and attorney in the state of Michigan in the late 1970s. He loved spending his time outdoors and continued to survey local sites and landmarks until his recent retirement.
